Windturbine blades mainly consist of composite – extremely strong and wear-resistant – but it is precisely these properties that create a dilemma after their working life. To solve this, Lubbers is part of a closed chain that organizes the supply, dismantling and reuse of the composite from the windmill blades.
Within this chain we take care of all transport, the decommissioning of the windmill blades and project management. We take the small blade parts to a processing location where the composite is further dismantled and prepared for the recycling process. Within this process, the composite is mechanically processed and brought into the correct composition and dimensions via a pultrusion technique to create a new raw material.
New products can be made by adding natural resins to this new raw material. This includes sheet pile planks and dragline bulkheads.
